Greetings and welcome to the website of the Chi Iota Omega (CIO) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! Our chapter is excited to be in the Marvelous Mid-Atlantic Region and a part of the Eastern Carolina Cluster. We take pride in being leaders in our community and in the Alpha Kappa Alpha legacy of commitment and service.

It is no secret that Alpha Kappa Alpha (the oldest black Greek letter sorority) is a service organization established over 100 years ago. CIO has been providing service in Eastern North Carolina since June 21, 2003, when 20 women in the Duplin County area came together to charter the Chi Iota Omega Chapter .The women of CIO will continue to be a significant and noticeable factor in our community for years to come with signature programs such as our Debutante Cotillion which allows us to raise funds for scholarships for the four high schools in Duplin County.

The members of our chapter are truly honored that you have been inspired to find out more about us. Our website includes easy access to our chapter’s history, upcoming events, a photo gallery, and other links to increase your knowledge about our sorority and our chapter. Thank you for visiting and we hope you will sign our guest book and visit our website often to find out what the ladies of CIO are doing as we strive to meet the needs of the citizens of Duplin County as we “Provide Service to Mankind”.

Sincerely,
Sylvia Draughn

President
